HIP HOP VS. RAP by Ronnie Ju'z

Now of days Hip Hop is getting a bad rep, so since every one is confusing the genre HIP HOP and the genre RAP I decided to take the type out to differentiate between the two. Hip Hop was made with the same intention as every other genre that derived from African American culture; to inform, unite, and lastly, to entertain the communites oppressed by the government. Till this day there are still artists that encourage that, artists like Mos Def, Talib Kweli, and even the newest edition to the Hip Hop legacy, Jay Electronica that help to preserve Hip Hop and all it's beats and breaks. Now when the big corporations found out about this new urban sound like every other sacred thing in a culture it was exploited and materialized... Rap is born. I could go on for days about this but if you still don't see a difference between the two genres ask your self this... what is the difference between Nas and Soulja Boy...
